ABOUT US:
Dan Attanasio aka Kalosthenos
Dan has over 25 years experience in the fitness industry. In 2009 he
made the decision to focus exclusively on bodyweight calisthenics . After
years of isolating muscle groups with machines and free weights he
realized his body lacked functional ability. By practicing natural
bodyweight movements known as calisthenics Dan's functional strength
and flexibility increased dramatically. He witnessed what he likes to refer
to as "beautiful strength", the meaning of the word calisthenics derived
from the Greek translation Kallos -"beauty" + Sthenos - "strength".
Dan devotes equal effort researching the healthiest way to feed the
body. He believes in eating a diet that will prevent disease while at the
same time fuel his high intensity training. By following a plant based
dietary regimen in addition to his training Dan has reached a high level
of health and fitness commonly referred to as SuperWellness.
Dan is determined to spread the word about calisthenics and plant
based nutrition in hopes of helping millions of people fight disease, obesity,
depression and regain control of their life. Quality of life means everything
to Dan. Dan himself fought his way out of depression with regular exercise
and plant based nutrition and has a deep desire to teach people the way.

"Machines isolate muscles. They remove them from their family and
interaction, and the result is a lonely dysfuntional muscle, lacking
strong connections and natural utility. Eventually these less-than-well
rounded muscles complain causing the whole body to groan."

"Our food should be our medicine and our medecine should be our food."

Mark aka X-Cali-Bar
In 2003 Mark took off from lifting weights due to a busy schedule.
Mark got back in to fitness late 2007. By focusing on basic calisthenics
exercises such as pullups, pushups, dips and ab work Mark got into the
best shape of his life. In 2009 he took it to the next level and started
doing extreme calisthenics training which included muscle ups, L-pullups
and plyometric dips to name a few. His body is stronger than ever and he
says "he owes it all to calisthenics".
Mark also pays close attention to his diet to maintain good health.
Mark does not eat beef or pork and focuses on getting plenty of fruits and
vegetables and only drinks water and fruit juices.
In order to maximize time with his family Mark mastered the
art of getting in shape with short training sessions often outside on his
lunch breaks. Mark says "The beauty of doing body weight training is
there is always time to get a workout in".
Mark has a passion for teaching people calisthenics and believes it
is a fun way for everyone to stay in shape.
